In source: The daughter of the original Black Canary (Dinah Drake) and policeman Larry Lance, Dinah Laurel Lance followed in her mother's footsteps as the second Black Canary. She would go on to become a founding member and chairwoman of the Justice League of America, giving it its name in reference to her mother's longtime membership in the Justice Society of America, as well as a founding member of the all-female covert ops team known as the Birds of Prey.
